Beijing Beginnings

Our first day in Beijing was amazing! We visited the Temple of Heaven which was an ancient sacrificial temple for the Chinese Emperors. Although it was rainy while we were there it was still warm outside which made the rain more tolerable.
After that we had lunch, which was delicious in comparison to the dinner we had the night before. The food for lunch was a lot more american-friendly. I still have a lot of getting used to when it comes to Chinese food! We then visited Tiananmen Square which was huuge and a lot emptier than I expected it to be. Maybe it was because of the rain, although when we got to the square it had stopped raining.
The last place we went was the Forbidden City, which was huuuge and many of the structures looked almost identical. In ancient times the city was only for the emperors and entry was forbidden to anyone else. We had a lot of free time in the city to explore for ourselves.

San Francisco

The journey begins! Our group met up in San Francisco at our hotel and then we had some free time at Fisherman's Warf. Everyone is really interesting and nice, seems like its going to be a great month! The weather in San Francisco was really nice compared to what we were met with once we arrived in Beijing.

你好!

3 days, 3 days! Although I haven't packed anything yet, and I'm still completely incapable of using chopsticks, China's just around the corner! I guess I should really start getting ready to leave now...
谢谢!
